Art & Wine

The Goddess

Installed in June of 2015, The Goddess of the Grapes graces the grounds of Parley Lake Winery as the official face of the winery and vineyard. The seven-foot bronze sculpture was created by our own, Deb Zeller, sculptor and one of the principal owners of Parley Lake Winery.

“As we were getting ready to open over seven years ago, I was put to the challenge to create something that would represent Parley Lake Winery,” Zeller recalls.

The Goddess, as she is known as at the winery, took four years to complete start to finish.

The Wine and Sculpture Stroll is a joint endeavor of Kent & Jane Schwickert of Chankaska Creek and Winery and Steve & Deb Zeller of Parley Lake Winery. During a conversation at a winter wine conference in 2013, the plan was put in motion to fulfill the dream of the winery owners to enhance the experience of their guests with art. With partnership and coordination with sculptors, we are proud to bring to you a wonderful collection of rotating sculptures. Many of the pieces are for sale. Please inquire for more information.

Artisan Label Series

Parley Lake Winery introduced it’s Artisan Series Wine in October 2010.  The winery is committed to featuring the artwork of a Minnesota artist on the Artisan Series label each time a new vintage is released.  If you would like more information, click here.

Our Resident Artist

Deb Zeller began her art career at age thirteen, when she received a set of oil paints for her birthday.  Over the decades, she has developed her skills in drawing, painting, glass fusion, encaustic (bees wax) painting, photography and bronze sculpture.

During the winery's open season, you can find Deb most weekends sharing her artwork with our guests -drawing portraits of them as part of the winery's Parley Portraits experience. Deb has drawn more than 1,000 of Parley Lake Winery's guests.

Her artwork can not only be seen at Parley Lake Winery, but she has had several publicly displayed sculptures across the United States and Canada.
